New Captain at Hastings

Category : Brigade News

The beginning of July marks the beginning of a new Captain at Hastings Fire Brigade. After 10 years of holding the role, Colin Cook decided to step down at the end of his current term in order to pursue other interests.

Colin has given many years to the CFA, joining as a Volunteer first in Frankston, and then later becoming a member at Hastings. While at Hastings, he was first elected to the Brigade Management Team as Second Lieutenant in 1994, before being elected to First Lieutenant in 1997, before being elected as Captain in 2004. The Brigade extends our thanks for the work that he has done, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Taking up his new role as Captain, is Jim Atkinson who was elected at the April biennial elections. Jim joined Hastings in 2006 and was elected to the position of Forth Lieutenant in 2008 and elected to Second Lieutenant in 2010. Prior to moving to Hastings and joining the CFA, Jim was part of Fire and Rescue in New South Wales for 21 years. We welcome Jim to the role and wish him all the best for the future.
