Oil Spill Incident
Category : Brigade News
At 7:55am on September 26th, Hastings was responded to a reported oil spill incident. On arrival the crews found approximately 200 litres of hydraulic oil had leaked over a large area stretching from nearly one side of Hastings to the other.
Road closures were implemented from Salmon Street/Reid Parade all the way to Church Street/Salmon Street as the oil on the road posed a significant risk to motorists. Mornington Peninsula Shire assisted the clean up by providing 15 metres of sand to soak up the oil with. Crews were on scene for five hours before departing.
