Junior Licola Camp
Category : Brigade News
Hastings Junior Fire Brigade recently embarked for a 3 day camp to Licola, travelling on a bus provided by Mornington Fire Brigade the first stop was a visit to Traralgon Fire Station, where the staff on shift took everyone over their new Ladder Platform appliance and gave them a tour of their fire station.
Arriving at Licola and after setting up camp the Juniors divided into different teams and would assist in carrying out work around the campsite which included duties such as cleaning and helping to cook.
Instructors from the Lions Club then arrived and took the Juniors over several activities which included the flying fox, raft building, a giant swing, rock climbing and an obstacle course during which everyone got muddy! Other activities included a pyjama night party and a trivia night.
The camp was a great success, with another looking at being held again in two years time. We would like to thank Jackie Whelan for catering, Captain Colin Cook for organising the trip, the Lions Club for the use of the camp facilities and Traralgon Fire Station for their time and Mornington Fire Brigade for the loan of their bus.
